About the event
The history of Jewsh immigrants and the settling of San Luis Obispo County were exlored in a fascinating exhibit at the History Center of San Luis Obispo County. Hightlights from that exhibit will be on display during the SLO Jewish Film and Learning Festival. A reception and guided tour will take place at March 9, at 5 PM with a Jewish Cal Poly professor providing additional context and insights about the exhibit.
Another part of the exhibit includes artwork on loan from Hebrew Union College's Heller Museum in New York City featuring the diversity of Jewish ceremonies from throughout the world. We are also pleased to feature an installation of the diversity of Jews we have living or going to school here in San Luis Obispo - you will see faces from many corners of the globe.
In conjunction with exhibit, the new documentary Jews of the Wild West will be presented at the Palm Theater on Sunday, March 12 at 1 PM followed by a converstion wth the filmmaker and a local historian discussing the Jewish contribution.
